Sid Smith

Sid Smith is a special guest of honor at the MoonJune Festival Toledo between September 28 and October 1, 2023.

A freelance music journalist, Sid Smith‘s reviews and feature articles have appeared in regional and national press and online including Prog Magazine, Uncut, Classic Rock, Record Collector, BBC Music, and many others. 
Sid is a prolific author of sleeve notes and essays for major and independent record labels with over 200 titles to his credit, including 2018 British Jazz Awards nominee, Where Fortune Smiles featuring John McLaughlin, John Surman, Dave Holland, and 2019 Prog Awards nominee, the deluxe reissue of Van Der Graaf Generator’s 1969 debut.

He is the author of the biography of King Crimson, In The Court Of King Crimson: An Observation Over 50 Years, which traces the legendary prog-rock pioneering band King Crimson’s career from the 1960s underground scene to the present day, featuring interviews with all the principal musicians and people associated with the band, a track by track analysis of studio output and an extensive annotated gigography.
